On-chain Realism Extremism: Pioneering New Paths for Future Civilization

The real world contains undeniable truths and order, an order that leads us to believe that even though life will eventually fade away, reality still endures. In contrast, the virtual world represents inherent inconsistencies; although it appears beautiful on the surface, it is difficult to maintain for long. However, the boundary between reality and the virtual is not always clearly discernible. We often judge the authenticity of things based on experience: the familiar is deemed real, while the unfamiliar is regarded as false. This criterion for judgment varies from person to person; from a logical perspective, how can we determine that the world we inhabit is not a meticulously designed illusion? How do we verify that what we perceive as real is not merely an illusion produced by the stimulation of our brains by electrical signals? Immersed in our familiar surroundings, we often overlook deeper questions.

The attention-grabbing reality is the reality that is meaningful to them, and this meaningful reality can trigger a transformation in self-awareness. When you immerse yourself in electronic devices and enter the world of your favorite games, you enter a state of flow, where the characters in the game become meaningful embodiments of yourself, and the game world becomes your important reality. In this state, your body merely serves as a vessel to maintain mental activity, detached from that reality, only needing to continue existing.

The phenomenon of subjective displacement allows us to construct new realities. The decentralization and immutability of blockchain technology provide a solid foundation for building these new realities. Large-scale decentralized applications serve as vast containers capable of supporting the growing number of participants. The world defined by smart contracts is not just a carefully curated theme park for temporary entertainment; it can transcend mere amusement, creating an environment where individuals must take responsibility for their actions and bear their consequences. However, many people do not take the large-scale decentralized applications being built as seriously as they should, viewing the on-chain world merely as a simple supplement to the existing world. This casual attitude undermines the inherent credibility of these applications, making it difficult for future on-chain residents to be persuaded to participate in constructive activities that can provide long-term, stable value.

Developing large-scale applications is a key step towards on-chain reality. Games, as an important subset of large-scale applications, face some resistance. This resistance reflects a potential anxiety stemming from the strong appeal of the "sub-reality" shaped by traditional Web2 games, which are simultaneously controlled by centralized entities and built on unreliable foundations. In contrast, fully on-chain games are not destined for destruction. Based on this, we can attempt to build a reality that is more real and imaginative than the physical world: a wilder, more romantic, and more beautiful world.

Our bodies exist on Earth, needing to meet basic needs such as daily survival, maintaining health, social interaction, and earning income. These necessities consume a significant amount of time and energy. While we may try to assign positive meaning to these tasks, they often feel like reluctant compromises. We seem to be making choices, but in reality, we are just blindly selecting from limited options, completely unaware of the consequences. With advances in technology, abundant material resources, longer human lifespans, and artificial intelligence taking over more basic tasks, on-chain realism provides a new path to address the spiritual crisis faced by humanity.

On-chain realism maximalism is not only a new trend in crypto culture but also represents the evolution of civilization. In this new reality, everyone can become their own master, breaking free from imposed and meaningless choices to collaboratively build a future for all humanity. There is no centralized control here, no irreversible collapse, only a world that evolves through consensus and action. In on-chain reality, we are no longer passively accepting external commands but actively creating a future that is freer, more romantic, and filled with hope. This future may be more real than what we once considered "reality."
