Coca-Cola and Solana NFT platform SolSea have joined forces for a collaboration during a music event in Serbia. The partnership involves the creation of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the distribution of limited-edition hoodies to select participants.
To facilitate this collaboration, the NFT infrastructure protocol All. Art is acting as a facilitator. Festival-goers attending the EXIT Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia, from July 6 to 9 will have the opportunity to engage with the NFTs and merchandise. The innovative "Magic Mirror" tool enables users to visualize 3D images of random merchandise on themselves in real time. By scanning a QR code, users can capture a picture of their customized image.
The NFT collection has been divided into batches, some of which will be available for purchase at the festival, while others are exclusively reserved for high-value festival ticket holders. SolSea representatives shared this information with Blockworks, a media platform covering blockchain and digital assets.
In a world where digital items can be easily duplicated, NFTs serve as a game-changing solution for brands. By selling NFTs, brands can offer unique digital assets that cannot be replicated perfectly, thereby creating rarity. The rarity of an item can contribute to its increased value when it is in high demand.
Additionally, NFTs play a role in traditional marketing strategies by providing a new way to engage with younger, tech-savvy audiences who are familiar with the digital and crypto space. This collaboration is not the first time Coca-Cola has ventured into the world of NFTs. In 2021, the company partnered with 3D art platform Tafi to create virtual NFT loot boxes, which were auctioned in the metaverse. Coca-Cola also successfully sold its inaugural digital collectibles on the NFT platform OpenSea, generating over $575,000 in funds that were donated to Special Olympics International. The company has also released digital collectibles commemorating events such as Pride Month and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
