[Chain News] PANews, July 30 - According to a report by the Financial Times in the UK, the largest financial technology company in the UK, Revolut, is considering the acquisition of an American bank to obtain a U.S. banking license more quickly and engage in lending activities. Insiders revealed that acquiring a bank with a national license would allow Revolut to enter the U.S. market faster than applying for a license on its own. Currently, Revolut has not made a final decision and is also considering applying for a banking license independently. The company has reached 60 million global customers and is seeking to support global expansion through a $1 billion financing. Previously, Revolut has obtained banking licenses in Lithuania and Mexico, and last month acquired the Argentine bank Cetelem. Revolut declined to comment on the plans to acquire an American bank.
