## Considering the establishment of Bitcoin reserves

The Indonesian government has been found to be considering holding cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) as reserves.

They are considering the use of Bitcoin to strengthen long-term economic power, specifically suggesting activities such as mining.

The content this time was announced on the 5th by a community organization called "Bitcoin Indonesia" on X. Members of Bitcoin Indonesia have posted with images that they were invited to the Vice President's Office of the country.

Members explained that this time they presented how Bitcoin could benefit Indonesia at the request of the Vice President's Office. They also mentioned that they discussed the future of the country's economic strategy.

It is also explained that while there is a proposal to conduct mining as one of the reserve strategies, there is an opinion that it is necessary to continue education concerning Bitcoin in Indonesia.

The cryptocurrency market in the country reached a trading volume of 650 trillion rupiah (approximately 5.9 trillion yen at the current exchange rate) in 2024, three times the amount from the previous year. The number of users has also surpassed 20 million, making it larger than the number of investors in the stock market.

Bitcoin Indonesia also presented that they are the largest Bitcoin community in Asia and that they can lead education at the national level.

He also mentioned quoting the 2045 Bitcoin price prediction made by Michael Saylor, the chairman of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), and noted that the year will mark the 100th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.

He also explained that, in addition to conveying ideas, he has provided books such as Saifedean Ammous's "The Bitcoin Standard" and Ray Dalio's "Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order: Why Nations Succeed and Fail."

It has also been reported that a government fund in Indonesia is considering investing in Bitcoin.
