On August 20, Trump called out on social media, stating, "The Federal Reserve Board of Governors member Cook must resign immediately!!!"
President Trump's steadfast ally, Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency Bill Pulte, sent a letter on August 15 to Justice Department official Ed Martin, implying that Fed Governor Cook may have committed a criminal offense. According to the disclosed copy of the letter, it accuses Cook of "forging bank documents and property records to obtain more favorable loan terms, which may constitute mortgage fraud under criminal law."
