A 12-Year-Old Whale Wallet That Bought Bitcoin at $7 Transferred a Load of BTC! - Coin Newsletter

Massive whale wallet that bought Bitcoin (BTC) for less than $10 is in action after many years.

The giant Bitcoin whale, which has been dormant for about 12 years, has woken up. According to data from on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain, the wallet in question purchased 500 Bitcoin on July 14, 2012 at a cost of $7.57**.

After a long period of inactivity, the whale made its first transaction on March 30 and sent all of its 500 Bitcoins worth $34.7 million to different wallets.

This transaction was interpreted as a pre-sale preparation for a Bitcoin investment in tens of millions of dollars in profit. On the other hand, in recent days, treasure hunt operations for wallets holding such old and large amounts of Bitcoin have also increased. It is also thought that this wallet, to which the real owner may have lost access, may have been seized in some way and the transfers may have been carried out accordingly.

According to data from CoinGecko, Bitcoin is trading at $70,000 at the time of writing, up 0.2% in the last 24 hours.
