Team Paribu met with children in Hatay on April 23

Team Paribu visited the multi-purpose sports field built for children and young people in the Container Living Space in Hatay in cooperation with Needs Map with the national athletes in its staff.

The Team Paribu sports field in the Container Living Area, which was built under the coordination of the Needs Map, was visited with the participation of Team Paribu athletes. National athlete Ersu Şaşma and national fencer Deniz Selin Ünlüdağ attended the event. The athletes first watched the performances prepared by children and young people accompanied by their coaches. Then he went down to the field with them and played sports.

After the February 6 earthquake, Team Paribu turned its focus to the earthquake zone with its belief in the healing power of sports. In August 2023, in cooperation with Needs Map, the "Team Paribu Seni Disaster Area Sports Fields" project was implemented. Nearly 400 children and young people do sports in the sports field built in Hatay within the scope of the project, accompanied by experienced sports trainers employed from the earthquake zone. Each student experiences different sports branches three times a week within the scope of monthly programs

Positive developments were observed in children who played sports after the earthquake

Nurten Bereket, one of the coaches working in the field, explains the effects of the Team Paribu sports field in Hatay on children as follows: "Since the day the field was opened, we have been observing physical and especially mental developments in children. After the children started playing sports, there was a drastic decrease in their stress levels and negative behaviors. They are now building healthier relationships with each other. They learned to work as a team. They are more confident in themselves. The number of our students is increasing day by day."

Kerem Yılmaz, another coach working in the field, said, "We had a student who started living in the Container Living Space after the earthquake and did not talk to anyone. After he started coming to the sports field, he started to communicate first with his friends who were doing sports and then with his family. There are dozens of such examples. Such studies are very important in order to reintegrate our children into society after the trauma they have experienced."
