Flybondi is ready to issue NFT tickets based on the <a href="/price/algorand-algo" target="_blank" class="blog_inner_link">Algorand</a> blockchain.

Passengers will purchase the normal tickets on Flybondi website which will be synchronized with NFT tickets which TravelX will generate. 

Air Europa was the first airline to produce flight NFT tickets in October 2022. 

Passengers can resell their NFT travel on secondary NFT marketplaces.

## Introduction 
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) find use cases in different industries such as the travel and tourism sector. They have already transformed some sectors as they enhance security, transparency; solving inefficiencies and addressing several other shortcomings. This article covers how NFTs are transforming the air travel industry. 
## Flybondi partners TravelX
Flybondi, the Argentinian low cost airline has partnered with TravelX to integrate web3 into its ticketing system. The integration called Ticket 3.0 enables the airline to use NFT tickets for its customers.

Mauricio Sana, the [Chief Executive Officer of Flybondi said](https://www.coinspeaker.com/argentinian-flybondi-tickets-nfts/ "Chief Executive Officer of Flybondi said"),  “Flybondi’s Ticket 3.0, powered by TravelX’s NFTicket technology, demonstrates our commitment to innovation and providing our customers with the best possible experience. We are excited to be at the forefront of this change in the travel industry.”

Another Flybondi spokesperson added that NFT ticket “offers a more flexible travel experience that allows passengers to even buy in advance without having to define their travel plans or who the travelers will be." This is because the customer has many benefits such as easy cancellation of trips. They can also change their names online as well as selling the ticket to other prospective travellers.

According to the airline, the customers are able to acquire the tickets in advance without stating the finer details of their travel arrangements. Facundo Martin, TravelX chief blockchain officer told CoinDesk that the company does not charge the passengers fees when they purchase the ticket. Instead, it gets a 2% commission when the NFT ticket holders sell them in the secondary market. 

It is essential to note that the passengers can purchase the tickets using Flybondi’s website. In addition, they have the option to make payments using fiat currency.  Nevertheless, TravelX will issue corresponding NFT tickets, apart from the normal e-tickets they get when they make their payments. 

Once the customers acquire their e-tickets as well as their NFT tickets they can create Ticket 3.0 accounts to store and manage their NFT flight through Flybondi. Notably, the travel terms and conditions are integrated into the flight NFT tickets.

## Example of NFT air ticket
Flybondi is not the first airline to introduce NFT travel. Air Europa, one of the largest Spanish airlines in partnership with TravelX, was the first one to introduce NFT tickets. The two, TravelX and Air Europa, auctioned the first NFT air travel ticket in Paris in October 2022. That ticket was purchased for $1 million. TravelX has announced that over 6 airlines are exploring ways of using NFT tickets. 

Air Europa’s first NFT ticket entitled its holders to a special air travel to Miami Beach on 29 November 2022. There were other perks and events that were hosted for the travellers.

First, an NFT is a unique digital asset that exists on the blockchain which shows ownership of an experience or event. An NFT ticket shows the right of an individual to attend a certain event or participate in it.. Therefore, a flight NFT ticket, also called NFT travel or NFT flight, gives an individual the right to board a certain airline from place A to place B. 

People can purchase the NFT air tickets online at any time. They can also sell their tickets on secondary NFT marketplaces. One of the advantages of NFT tickets is that they always remain valid since they cannot be counterfeited. As such, they reduce the risks of fake tickets. When the traveller wants to board a specific plane the ticket is scanned to prove its authenticity.

NFT tickets have several benefits apart from the security and transparency they offer. The chance of an NFT ticket to get lost is lower than that of a physical one. What is important is for the passenger to keep his/her digital wallet details in a secure place. Also, other people can track the transactions on the blockchain since it is a public ledger. You can easily see the changes that take place to the ticket at any time. 

Flight NFT tickets also bring convenience in the sector. For Example, passengers can easily sell their tickets when they no longer want to go on the trip. The good thing is that once the ticket is sold there is a change of ownership. The buyer of the ticket becomes its new owner with all the privileges and rights attached to the NFT ticket. 

The situation is different from the physical tickets where the passengers lose their money when they fail to go for the trip. The reason is that every ticket has the personal details of the passengers such as names which another traveller cannot use.
