Solana new project: minting NFT to raise funds to buy an underground bunker from the Cold War era in the UK, to host an apocalypse party.

Due to the magical nature of the real world, people often imagine what they can do when the apocalypse arrives, stockpiling food and drinks, hiding in well-built air-raid shelters and bunkers, and partying inside until the very last moment. How does that sound?

Solana NFT project owner Metabags is ready to sell 100,000 NFTs for fundraising plans to buy an anti-nuclear bunker built during the Cold War in Rutland, UK. Meatbags' Creator Dead Bruv plans to mint 100,000 NFTs, Meatbags holders will receive 10,000 airdrops, and according to a post on Meatbags X, the remaining Metabags will go on sale starting April 21 with prices starting at $14.

The hashtag for this NFT project is #buythebunker, touted as the strangest real estate crowdfunding NFT project. Robert, the anonymous co-founder of Dead Bruv, stated that the aim of the project is to make NFTs fun again.

Welcome to the Apocalypse Club

NFT holders can join a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) called the "Billionaire Bunker Club," a community that manages real-world assets on-chain. If the bunker purchase is successful, the club will vote to decide the governance of the bunker. The NFT project also has some new ideas that can be implemented after purchasing the bunker, including a "members-only doomsday survival resort hotel with DJs" for celebrating the doomsday festival, and opening an AirBnB room offering caviar and canned beans.

UK property auctioneers list doomsday bunkers for sale

The UK online property auction house SDL Property Auctions has listed the Doomsday bunker that Dead Bruv hopes to purchase, with a suggested sale price of £650,000 ($862,257), and the auction date is set for April 24.

The property page shows that the bunker is located near a reservoir, covering an area of 1.4 acres. The successful bidder will obtain the necessary permits to convert it into a house. This bunker was built in 1960 and served as a monitoring outpost for nuclear radiation during the Cold War. According to the SDL auction house introduction, it is one of 1,500 bunkers responsible for reporting nuclear detonations and monitoring radioactive dust.

This underground bunker for sale is located in Uppingham, England, and was established in 1960 as the Royal Observer Corps (ROC) Cold War monitoring station, decommissioned in 1968. During the peak of the Cold War, the ROC had underground monitoring stations across the UK, responsible for reporting nuclear explosions and monitoring the subsequent radioactive fallout.

Planning permission has been granted and auctioneers describe it as a "one-of-a-kind large residence" with "cathedral-like ceilings", wide glass frontages, two floors of stunning accommodation and views of the surrounding Leicestershire countryside.
