Lumoz: Integrating ZK-Rollup to create a platform-based Layer 2 solution
Rollup New Paradigm: The Arrival of the Platform Era
As the number of Ethereum users continues to grow, the network is becoming increasingly busy, and high transaction fees are blocking the possibility of small transactions. Therefore, improving storage efficiency, transaction throughput, and reducing transaction delays are very important for the development of Ethereum.
Traditional Layer 1 scaling solutions generally consist of two forms: On-chain and Off-chain. On-chain refers to updating optimizations on Layer 1 through changes in the consensus mechanism, implementing sharding, and expanding block size; Off-chain refers to off-chain scaling, mainly including sidechains and Layer 2 solutions. Layer 2 operates based on the mainnet's security protocol, thus often having an advantage in terms of security.
The mainstream Layer2 implementation solutions currently include three types: Channel, Plasma, and Rollup. Since Rollup is essentially a further extension of the Plasma solution, it offers higher security, state validity, and data verification capabilities, making Rollup the fundamental direction for the future development of Layer2.
There are two main branches in Rollups: one is Optimistic Rollup and the other is ZK Rollup. Overall, ZK Rollup provides higher security compared to Optimistic Rollup, and there is no delayed transaction confirmation during the challenge period, making it more promising for applications. However, due to the significantly higher technical implementation difficulty of ZK Rollup compared to Optimistic Rollup, the mainstream market for Rollup technology is still occupied by Optimistic Rollup.
For this reason, how to shape a standardized ZK-Rollup solution and gradually expand the application market for ZK-Rollup has become an important issue. The comprehensive solution that a certain platform can provide may become the key to breaking the deadlock.
The Strong Background of Lumoz
The Lumoz network is a globally distributed modular computing network that, in conjunction with the DePIN network, shapes a powerful, secure, and flexible computing platform, providing computing power support for ZK-Rollup, ZK ML, ZKP, and more. At the same time, Lumoz focuses on ZK-RaaS construction, aiming to provide a complete set of ZK Rollup deployment and implementation solutions to address various issues such as the incompatibility of current ZK-Rollup solutions, computing power centralization, and risk concentration.
Lumoz has been deeply involved in the ZK field for many years. Its founder has held executive positions in several top technology companies and investment firms, possessing rich technical knowledge and excellent blockchain project management abilities.
Lumoz launched its testnet in May 2023, and so far it has 28,403 POW nodes, 16 permitted Rollups, 470,000 ZKP submissions, and 20 million transaction occurrences.
On the technical side, Lumoz has launched ZK-Rollup Launchbase, increasing support for ETH, BSC, and Polygon testnets, and providing various modular components such as Data Availability (DA) and shared sequencers. It has also achieved several groundbreaking inventions, including the ZKP Two-step Algorithm, NCRC, zkVerifier node verification mechanism, and the highly compatible technology stack of Lumoz RaaS Launchbase. Meanwhile, both Merlin chain and ZKFair's ZK computation are supported by Lumoz, with initial technical implementation already achieved.
Unified ZK Technical Solution
Lumoz provides a modular computing layer
Modular Rollup provides a new approach to solving the blockchain trilemma. Rollup generally achieves a layered structure by decomposing the blockchain system into different modules, resulting in more efficient transaction processing and data management, thereby balancing the issues of decentralization, security, and scalability to a certain extent. Conventional Rollup typically includes the settlement layer, execution layer, consensus layer, and data availability layer.
In addition to the four levels of conventional Rollup, Lumoz also includes the Prover Layer, which provides censorship-resistant distributed computing, implements ZKP, and ensures the authenticity and validity of transaction states.
ZK computing resources + double narrative of re-staking
Lumoz integrates powerful ZK computing resources with a re-staking mechanism through Lumoz Oracle, zkProver, zkVerifier, and Lumoz Chain, allowing users to re-stake tokens that are already staked. Lumoz will enhance the security of its Active Verification Service (AVS); at the same time, the staked tokens will serve as collateral for nodes to prevent malicious behavior.
This process allows multiple verification servers to share a set of tokens, thereby improving resource utilization and computational efficiency, which is extremely important for high computational demands of ZKP generation; through re-staking, Lumoz can better support various EVM-compatible blockchain environments, such as Polygon EVM, Scroll, etc., increasing the platform's scalability.
Optimize ZKP computation and submission mechanism
Lumoz optimizes the ZKP computation and submission mechanism, supporting parallel computation and sequential submission of ZKP, breaking ZKP into multiple subtasks that can be computed on different zkProver nodes, and ultimately submitting the subtasks in the correct order.
In addition, Lumoz proposed a novel recursive aggregation algorithm for handling ZKPs, which can aggregate multiple ZKPs into a smaller ZKP, reducing the size and complexity of the ZKP through a recursive method, thereby lowering the consumption of storage and computing resources on the blockchain.
The aggregator serves as the core manager in zkProver, ensuring efficient allocation of computational tasks and precise scheduling of verification.
the most compatible ZK-RaaS solution
The ZK-RaaS Launch Base has supported all mainstream zkEVM technologies, allowing developers to easily deploy and start ZK-Rollup with just a few simple operations.
Specifically, Lumoz's ZK-RaaS platform supports multiple architectural models.
Modular Compute Layer: The modular compute layer provided by Lumoz supports various Layer 2 solutions, including architectures like Op Stack + ZK Fraud Proof. This modular approach allows developers to choose different base layers, zkEVM types, data availability layers, and sequencers as needed.
Native Cross-Rollup Communication: Lumoz also supports native cross-Rollup communication between different ZK-Rollups on the same underlying chain. This communication mechanism allows an address on one Rollup to interact directly with a contract on another Rollup, thereby enhancing interoperability between applications.
Customizable Infrastructure Services: Lumoz provides a variety of infrastructure services, such as bridging interfaces, customized zkEVM types, block explorers, decentralized exchanges, decentralized identity systems, wallet infrastructure, and more. These services allow developers to customize various aspects of ZK-Rollup according to their project needs.
It is precisely due to Lumoz's contribution that the deployment of ZK-Rollup will achieve a leap from difficulty to ease, which may signify the beginning of the trend of ZKP applications.
Token Model
The Lumoz token economic model is a typical dual-token governance model, providing two tokens: MOZ and esMOZ.
MOZ is the native token of the mainnet, serving as the core asset of the mainnet.
esMOZ serves as an ecological governance token, used for the construction and maintenance of the mainnet ecosystem.
It is worth mentioning that the exchange rate of esMOZ to MOZ changes over time. With a 10-day redemption period, the redemption rate is 100%; with a 7-day redemption period, the redemption rate is 70%; with a 3-day redemption period, the redemption rate is 50%; and with a 1-day redemption period, the redemption rate is 10%. This redemption mechanism can alleviate the market pressure from miner tokens and effectively prevent large-scale redemptions of esMOZ after hacker attacks from impacting the market, thus protecting the rights of MOZ purchasers.
Why we are optimistic about Lumoz
The vigorous development of ZK-Rollup was already destined when experts proposed in 2022 that ZK-Rollup would be the best solution for Layer2 Rollup in the future.
The emergence of Lumoz will integrate the previously fragmented ZK-Rollup situations, optimizing the construction of ZK-Rollup while creating a complete set of easy deployment processes for ZK-Rollup.
The Rollup revolution is imminent, and the emergence of Lumoz meets the urgent need to integrate ZK-Rollup and drive industry updates.
Lumoz provides a modular computing layer that combines the concept of re-staking to upgrade the security and scalability of the mainnet.
Lumoz optimizes the ZKP process, fully utilizing computing resources and enhancing computational efficiency.
Lumoz provides a complete set of methods for deploying ZK-Rollup, which may herald a rise of ZK-Rollup projects.
Overall, the emergence of Lumoz will address the issues of high deployment difficulty of past ZK-Rollups and high computational resource requirements for ZKPs, which have led to centralization of computation, thus taking the most crucial step for the further development of ZK-Rollups in the future.
